Justine is a local California girl who grew up on a farm in the North Bay. She has grown up “tending to the animals” since she was old enough to walk. She has nurtured everything from cows to chickens to horses and most importantly dogs. Her passion for working with animals started when she was five and began riding horses; by the time she was fifteen, she was training and riding horses at a national competitive level.

Merlin, Justine and Tasman
After a few years in management she asked herself “If I could have any job what would it be?” The answer was easy: I would love to walk my dog for a living! From this idea, Irondogs was born. Justine enrolled in as many dog-training classes she could and read countless books on training and caring for animals her business blossomed.
What makes Irondogs unusual is that ninety percent of her clientele has been with her from the start, six years ago. This means that many of her puppies have grown up together and are a part of a cohesive well-trained group. This allows new dogs to be easily introduced into groups that are well-trained, well-mannered and ready to show your dog the way!

Justine has a calming affect, even on feral cats
Irondogs was named after the Ironman Triathlon with the idea in mind that the canines in her care would experience a diverse energetic workout at the park. This means that every type of dog gets special attention within the groups; the "ball dogs" run and chase the ball as we walk along the trail, the "scouting dogs" map out the territory and check out all the good sights and smells, the older dogs closely follow Justine’s trail and wait for the occasional treat to drop from her pocket...
